Kingdom - The Office of Telecommunications
- OFTEL is the "watchdog", or regulator,
for the UK telecoms industry. Our aim is for customers to get the best possible
deal in terms of quality, choice and value for money. OFTEL is a non-ministerial
government department, independent of ministerial control, and is headed by
the Director General of Telecommunications, who is appointed by the Secretary
of State for Trade and Industry. The current Director General is Don Cruickshank.
